You are in: Things to do , The LGBT Movement, Barcelona
Barcelona is diversity. From its 4 km of coast through to its wide range of internationally prestigious museums and its medieval and Modernist architecture. It is the centre of Catalonia’s LGBT scene, offering a host of specific services for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transsexuals. Although almost all hotels claim to be gay friendly, specific gay establishments are focused on the left side of l´Eixample, known as Gaixample, as well as in areas of the city such as Ciutat Vella and Gracia. Furthermore, its Anti-Discrimination office was the first municipal service in Europe aimed at the defence of LGBT rights.
